I have been studying languages and math for thirty-nine years, and chess for forty-two. I have a profound and almost unparalleled knowledge of these subjects which, along with twenty years of teaching experience --as well as the creation of my own methods-- enables me to teach far more effectively than can the vast majority of tutors.
Experience
I have been teaching English, Spanish, Latin, and math for exactly twenty years. One two-hour lesson is the equivalent of at least an entire week at any educational institution. My dead-on precise step-by-mini-step explanations, coupled with a singular patience and perseverance make any subject far easier to understand than it could be made to by almost anyone else. Teaching is a passion, and the ability to teach effectively --although it must be developed over the course of many years-- is essentially innate. A degree is no longer a guarantee of competency, just as not having one is not necessarily an indication of incompetency. A great teacher is essentially born with the talent, and no amount of schooling to obtain a fancy degree can produce that talent.
